Architect Ries van den Berg is in 2008 door de bewonerscommissie gevraagd om na te gaan denken over renovatiemogelijkheden van het Spinozaplantsoen. Samen onderzoeken ze de huidige toestand van de huizen en mogelijkheden tot renovatie. De organisatie van Spinoza presenteert heeft de architect en de bewonerscommissie gevraagd om een klein project te weiden aan de toekomst van het plantsoen.
Geïnteresseerde bewoners kunnen een dag onder leiding van Ries van den Berg een maquette gaan maken van hun droomhuis. Deze droomhuizen vormen samen een nieuw Spinozaplantsoen. De huizen in het Spinozaplantsoen vormen het uitgangspunt van de maquettes. Het lijkt ons interessant om bewoners kennis te laten maken met het kijken naar de wijk door architectenogen. Tevens lijkt het ons interessant om de architect in contact te brengen met bewoners en hun wensen.
Wij zien in het Spinozaplantsoen een bijzondere architectuur. Met name de combinatie van twee maisonettes boven één benedenwoning karakteriseert de buurt. De architectuur van de buurt draagt bij aan een gearticuleerd vormbeeld van de naoorlogse bouw.
Voor Spinoza presenteert: in september wordt een tentoonstelling gemaakt waarin de maquettes worden getoond aan het publiek. Deze tentoonstelling laat niet alleen de maquettes zien, maar toont ook een kijkje achter de schermen van het maakproces van architectuur.
